Cleaning up inactive groups

Over time, many groups within a Confluence instance can become inactive or redundant due to project completion, team reorganization, or employee turnover. These inactive groups can accumulate, making maintaining an organized and efficient Confluence environment challenging. Additionally, unused groups may pose security risks if not properly managed, as they may retain access permissions that are no longer needed.

The Group Master app provides a streamlined process for identifying and removing inactive groups from a Confluence instance. Administrators can use the plugin to:

  1. View and analyze group usage: Identify groups that are no longer being actively used by reviewing their usage history within the system.

  2. Delete inactive groups: Easily remove inactive or redundant groups with a single action, freeing up space and improving overall group management.

  3. Clear group usage data: In addition to deleting the group itself, the plugin offers the option to clear all associated usage data, ensuring that the Confluence instance remains clean and free of unnecessary records.
